About Me

I grew up in the small town of Aliceville, Alabama where we have one red light. Aliceville is the kind of town where you go shopping at Food Fare or grab a burger from Jack’s and you would run into somebody that you know. My friend group did not have much to do, so we had to be creative by playing “footsketball” on the trampoline or finding some way of getting in some kind of trouble by our parents. 

I attended Pickens Academy my entire life and that was where I fell in love with sports and also quickly learned I would not be able to play at the next level. I knew I wanted to work in sports however, I was clueless of what I wanted to do. I graduated from Pickens Academy in 2017 and packed my bags to make the 33 mile trip to Livingston, Alabama where the University of West Alabama is to begin to further my education.

As an undergraduate student, I studied Sport Management and learned the side of sports that I have never known about. I took classes on budgets, law, and marketing in sports and loved it. I had an internship with the Athletic Communications staff in the Spring of 2021 and got to work game-day operations. I graduated from West Alabama in 2021 with my degree in Sport Management and began to pursue more opportunities. I moved back to Aliceville and worked in a insurance office. In July, I got a text message saying that West Alabama Athletic Communications had an open Graduate Assistant job. I thought about it and then I was packing my bags to make the same 33 mile trip.

I moved back to Livingston, Alabama where I am now and get to work in college athletics by sharing stories of the West Alabama student-athletes. I write stories, broadcast UWA Basketball, edit all kinds of videos, update the website, and a number of other things. I am currently pursuing a Master’s of Integrated Marketing and Communications at West Alabama. The education that I have recieved and getting directly tie into what I do on a daily basis.

The Lord has blessed me in my life and I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had, along with being excited for what He will do for me next.
